Every three months The Center will feature a community artist’s work. This is in support of the wonderful LGBT artists in our community. This is also to show one aspect of our culture that projects our brilliance and being.
Our first ever exhibition artist is Novei Beige.
Novei Beige was born in November, 1981 in Belleville, IL and now resides in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a self-taught artist, known for her “whimsical macabre” style of painting. At nineteen she began traveling and spending extended periods of time in Los Angeles and New York, where her paintings begun to birth from the “Flowers of her conscious, unconscious.” She has painted numerous murals in the St. Louis area, has been commissioned to paint for Hedonism Salon & Day Spa in Santa Monica, California and can also be found doing live body painting at many St. Louis venues.
Novei’s work has been displayed at The Center since August of this year opening at The Center’s Grand Opening Celebration. Some of her work currently can now be seen within the Euclid Plaza Building and The Atomic Cowboy. In addition a new painting to her Community Artist Exhibition can be currently be seen, “Untitled”.
On Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at 7:30PM, Novei will have her closing show here at The Center. Please come and join us in celebrating Novei’s work.
Novei's work is open for purchase. She has also graciously offered to donate a percentage of her sales of her exhibition to The Center. So not only come and enjoy the work, take it home and know that your enjoyment is also supporting The Center.
